Notorious Robbers Kill Bank Manager, Three Others In Ekiti state

Band of armed robbers stormed two commercial banks in Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area of Ekiti State and killed a bank manager, a cashier, a bank security officer.

They also attacked the palace of the traditional monarch in the area and killed the palace security late Thursday night.

The gang of robbers also attacked a petrol station and carted away huge sum of money with some of the workers seriously injured.

Speaking, the Oore of Otun who is also the paramount ruler of Moba land, Oba Adedapo Oladele Popoola said the robbers invaded the community like rampaging terrorists.

“They killed, maimed and left with huge sum of money from the banks and petrol station. I thought they were Boko Haram when I was hearing gunshots that lasted for hours,” he said.

The monarch said that his security guard who had resumed for night duty was killed while a bank manager, one cashier and bank security guard were also killed in the robbery.

The state’s police command’s spokesman,--i confirmed the incident. He disclosed that investigation into the robbery had officially commenced, adding that the remains of the attacked victims have been deposited at the General Hospitai.

Students at the MC Model Boys Government School in Pakistan have allegedly beaten a classmate to death for associating with a Muslim student.

The 17-year-old boy identified as Sharoon Masih was beaten to death by his classmates because he was seen drinking from the same glass as a Muslim.

According to DailyMail, the boy’s class teacher was in the class when the tragic incident occurred.

The teacher, however, claimed he did not witness the attack on the young boy because he was reading a newspaper at the time.

It was gathered that the boy just transferred to the school four days before the incident to pursue a better education. His parents were said to have saved money to afford the school fees.

According to reports, the young boy was subjected to abuse since his first day in the school for being a Christian.

The British Pakistani Christians charity said his mother Razia Bibi had warned him not to associate with Muslim boys after she heard he was being abused.

One Orabe Philips Leo, has been arrested for attempting to kill his American visitor and benefactor on 25th August 2017. The victim Mr Robert Rob Wheelers an American arrived Nigeria on 25th August 2017 and was picked up at the airport by the suspect who once worked with him at Tony Elumelu foundation in 2015.

The suspect drove the victim to his house at Adeniyi street, Ikorodu, Lagos State, where he was to reside till his return back to US. Wheelers was, however, attacked by his host at midnight and was left in his pool of blood after which the suspect fled.

The police received the distress call and it’s operatives were dispatched to launch a manhunt for the suspect while the victim was rushed to the hospital. On the 8th of September Leo was arrested at his hideout within Ikorodu.

He confessed to have clubbed Wheelers’ head with a pestle three times, stating that the victim reneged on his promise to give him an unspecified amount of money, a promise the victim couldn’t keep, which angered him.

The suspect, when questioned why he will have to kill a man because he refused to fulfil a promise, revealed that he has invested so much in his effort to get money from Wheelers.

He added that he consulted a white garment church where he was given a charm to use on Wheelers, but was deeply angered when the victim didn’t obey his instructions.

“I think their reaction said it all,” he said. “It was disappointing at any ground, at any club, a supporter getting on the pitch like that.

“It was bitterly disappointing and I am sure the club will deal with whoever that supporter was. It shouldn’t be anything that we should see.

“I think the stewards dealt with it at the time and I am sure the club will deal with it.”

In July, Celtic were fined £20,600 after an “illicit banner” was displayed during their qualifying win over Linfield.

It was the club’s 11th punishment in six years relating to misconduct from supporters during European ties.

Following the initial charge, they announced a two-game closure of the area of the stadium occupied by the Green Brigade fans’ group.

1. It’s going to have a bigger screen

The whole point of the new iPhone 8 is going to be the fact that it’s got a bigger screen than anything Apple has ever made, but in a body

that’s smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus.

2. It will be faster than ever

Some of the things that Apple is going to chuck at this new iPhone (which we will  come onto a little bit later) will require a bit more grunt in the engine room, so there needs to be some more power coming out.

3.It will be expensive

The iPhone will  cost you around $1000 / £900 / AU$1250 /#360000. that is the amount the new iPhone we likely be sold at. And thats about N400,000.

4.It will have two cameras

First, they will be arranged vertically, rather than horizontally, on the back of the phone for the augmented reality (AR) functions (we’ll come onto in a moment).

Secondly – and this is a big one – both cameras are well-tipped to have optical image stabilisation. That means sharper images, better low-light performance overall and a telephoto lens that will allow you to actually zoom in and have great pics.

The Portrait mode, the bokeh effect seen on the iPhone 7 Plus, will be upgraded with more lighting effects to make these photos look smoother

and more impactful on social media.

5.It will  be the first ‘proper’ AR machine for Apple

Following on from the camera upgrades, AR is going to be a big push for Apple with the new iPhone 8.

By having the dual cameras on the rear of the phone it will have the ability to perceive the depth of what’s being looked at, so the new iPhone will be able to ‘see’ your surroundings.

6. It will have an OLED display

This is big for Apple – it’s been one of the key advantages rival Samsung has had over it for years, and for good reason. OLED displays just look more impressive, it is to have ‘perfect’ black levels and more rich, immersive colours.

This will allow for smoother visuals, HDR video playback and possibly even a virtual reality (VR) push, as OLED lends itself well to VR and

the faster screen refresh.

7. It won’t have a home button

There won’t be a home button. There wasn’t really one on the iPhone 7, as the ‘button’ didn’t click but vibrated haptically whenever pushed, so users probably won’t struggle to adapt as much as they would have thought.

8.The battery will be bigger

The iPhone will need a bigger battery, but the larger screen (with likely more pixels too) is going to need more power to run… so the internal power pack needs to step up as a result.

The iPhone 7 Plus has a 2900mAh unit inside, and the word is that the iPhone 8 will be ‘larger’, which could mean just 3000mAh – that said,

it should be just about enough to keep things going well.

9.The new Animojis in iOS 11 Credit:

This is likely to be a multi-functional area that changes with different apps, a zone near your finger or thumb that performs new functions depending on where you are in the phone – it’ll be interesting to see how long it takes developers to start using it, if indeed it does come to fruition.

There will be myriad tweaks throughout the handset as well that the new larger screen will offer – not least the button in the top-left corner to take you back through apps being almost unreachable, so something will have to be done there – so if you do plump for a new iPhone 8, expect a slight learning curve.

10. It won’t have a headphone jack

Given the iPhone 8 is set to be all-new in design, it would be one of the most un-courageous climbdowns in the history of phone manufacturing if Apple re-enabled the headphone jack – and no render we’ve seen has had a port anywhere in sight.

There is talk of new Airpods being unveiled at the iPhone 8 launch event, and that would squarely highlight how Apple is looking to a wireless future for its audio.

This Man Fights Armed Robber For Stealing Girlfriend’s Phone, Collects Gun (Photo)

Michael David,a suspected armed robber, has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State, after he robbed a lady, identified simply as Kate, of her phone.

PUNCH Metro gathered that 22-year-old David and two other members of his gang, while armed with a locally-made double-barrelled pistol, attacked Kate and her boyfriend, one Desmond, on Close 26, Satellite Town, Ijegun, around 10pm.

They were said to have taken Kate’s mobile phone and threatened to shoot the couple dead if they resisted.

The gang had allegedly mounted a waiting motorcycle and were about speeding off when Desmond summoned courage and attacked the men.

He was said to have succeeded in pulling down David, as his girlfriend called for help.

Attempts by the suspect to shoot the victim failed, as the gun reportedly jammed.

The Imo State indigene was reportedly mobbed by residents, who handed him over to the police.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Edgal Imohimi, paraded David among seven other suspected robbers at the Police Officers’Mess, Ikeja, on Wednesday.

Imohimi said Desmond and Kate had closed from work and were heading home on August 13, 2017, when they were attacked by the robbers.

He said,

“On August 13, 2017, at about 10pm, one Demond and Kate, both residents of Satellite Town, Ijegun, Lagos, were on their way home when they were attacked at Close 26, Satellite Town, by three armed robbers with one locally-made double-barrelled pistol. The suspects ordered them to surrender their phones or get shot. They dispossessed them of a mobile phone, valued at N39,000, and jumped on their standby motorcycle.

“But the man summoned courage and dragged one of them, Michael David, down from the motorcycle and with the help of passersby, the suspect was arrested and his gun taken away from him. The two other robbers escaped with the stolen property.”

The suspect, who claimed to be a tiler, said he was not the owner of the gun, adding that it belonged to his friend, one Ahmed.

David said his gang had only approached the girl to collect her phone, adding that he was not an armed robber.

He said,

“We were coming from a friend’s party around the Waterside area on that day when we sighted the girl passing with her boyfriend. We went to meet her to collect her phone and she suddenly raised the alarm. My friends ran away, but I was caught. I was not caught with the gun. Two to three hours after the incident, some OPC members brought the gun and said it belonged to me. I am not an armed robber and we didn’t attack the girl; we only collected her phone.”

When, however, the Investigating Police Officer challenged him on his denial of the gun, he owned up.

The policeman explained that the suspect had attempted to shoot Desmond and his girlfriend dead when the gun jammed.

“He made an attempt to shoot at them, but the gun disappointed him. He was the one holding the gun,” he said.

In a related development, the police said five other suspects were arrested with five guns in the Egbeda area of Lagos State during another robbery on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

The police identified the suspects as Musbau Gbadamosi, Kehinde Jimoh, Ayomide Ibile, Adekunle Rasheed and Ayodele Ojo.

Gobe see 50-yr-old Man Drags His Step-Granddaughter Into The Bush & R@pes Her

A man, Darrell Mills in Florida is accused of dragging his 11-year-old step-granddaughter into the woods and raping her in the middle of the night, police say.

He was arrested and charged with kidnapping a child younger than the age of 13, $exual battery on a child under 12, committing $exual acts, and more according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The horrific ordeal began when the 50-year-old woke up about 1.50am on Sunday and told his wife that he was going to get food, the arrest affidavit said.

The report states that Mill was ‘drunk and upset over his daughter’s death’ after he attended her funeral on Saturday, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

Mill’s wife went to check on him in their Apopka home when she noticed that the door to her granddaughter’s room was locked.

She then picked the lock on the door and discovered Mills inside the girl’s room, according to the arrest report.

He then dragged the 11-year-old girl out of the room by the arm and out of the house before taking her into the woods, the report states.

Authorities said the young girl was screaming hysterically and that she was Nakked from the waist down.  He then forced her into a green Chevrolet SUV where he R@ped her, police say.

Police who arrived to the home issued an Amber Alert for the girl around 7.33am after she was abducted.

Roughly 100 law-enforcement officials from the sheriff’s office, Apopka Police Department and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene at the home and launched an extensive search for the 11-year-old girl.

Three hours after the Amber Alert was issued, a citizen flagged police down to report spotting the girl with Mills.

The little girl told police that Mills, who is married to her biological grandmother, came into her room with a knife and threatened to kill her, the report states.

Deputies say that Mills performed 0ral $ex on the victim.

Number of Universities That Set Jamb Cut-off Mark at 120

At least 23 Nigerian universities have adopted the 120 cut-off mark recently introduced by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

The universities, mostly private, are among the 168 universities in Nigeria whose cut-off marks were released in a document PREMIUM TIMES obtained from JAMB on Friday.

The universities that adopted the 120 cut-off point include:Achievers University, Adeleke University, Caleb University, Fountain University, Caritas University, Novena University, Renaissance University, Ojiagu-agbani University, Evangel University, McPherson University, South Western University, Samuel Adegboyega University, Wellspring University, Western Delta University, Wesley University, Summit University, Edwin Clark University, Hezekiah University, Kings University, Arthur Javis University, Crown Hill University, Clifford University and Coal City University.

JAMB had on August 22 announced the 120 cut-off peg for universities following a policy adopted by vice chancellors, provosts, rectors, admission officers, registrars and other stakeholders in the education sector.

Universities were, however, at liberty to increase their cut-off marks, with majority doing so.

The new minimum cut-off point for universities had received lots of flak from parents, civic right groups, and students.

According to the list of adopted cut-off marks, the Obafemi Awolowo University, University of Lagos, University of Benin and University of Nigeria, pegged their cut-off point at 200.

Lagos State University according to the list is the only university that fixed its cut-off point at 190.

Another scenario is when a friend requests for the password of the WiFi network you are connected to and you tell him you don’t know (which is true actually) but he doesn’t believe you. Save yourself the hassles and stress of wracking your brain to remember the password to previously connected WiFi networks on your Android phone using the trick below;

1. Download the “WiFi Key View” app

First off, download and install the “WiFi Key View” application from the Google Play Store.

NOTE: To enjoy the full functionalities of the Wifi Key View app, you must first root your smartphone or ensure your smart phone is rooted.

2. Grant the app necessary permission

After installation, the root app will display a prompt asking if you want to allow or deny the WiFi Key View app root access.

Click Allow to grant the app root access as it is needed to seeing your WiFi networks passwords.

Basically, the app requires root access so it can obtain the list of network names and their respective password from the location where it is being saved in your device.

4. Launch the WiFi Key View app

Launch the WiFi Key View application and on the app dashboard, it automatically displays all WiFi networks you have connected to in the past with the network names on top and the password below.

If you have a really long list of networks, simply scroll upwards or downwards to see full list of all networks and their respective passwords.

Also, at the top right corner of the app, you can simply do a network search if you have numerous networks on your list or if you remember the name of the WiFi network you seek its password. This is easier and faster in my opinion.

• On the app dashboard, hold any WiFi network and a pop up menu appears.

Fayose’s Islamic Dress Code In Line With Biblical Injunctions –Grand Imam

The Grand Imam of the League of Imams and Alfas in Southwest, Edo and Delta, Sheikh Bello, has said Governor Ayodele Fayose’s Islamic dressing was in obedience to Allah’s instructions.

He added that the dressing was also in line with biblical injunctions.

Bello spoke during the Eid-el-Kabir prayers on Friday, which Governor Fayose had attended.

“The governor’s dressing was in obedience to Allah’s instructions.

“This dressing shows that the governor is not discriminating against any religion. Your Excellency, your dressing is even in line with Biblical injunctions,” Bello noted.

“If you check the book of Zecharias 3:3, the Bible says, ‘We removed unclean clothes from Joshua, we washed him clean and he was dressed with a clean turban on his head and God’s angel stood by him.’

“Our governor, as you wore the turban on your head, the angel of God is already with you and that is why you are succeeding in all that you do, against all odds,” Bello added.

In response, Fayose said, “I got elected by everyone’s vote. Choice of religion is free. As a leader, appearing in a Muslim regalia with a turban is to say that I must be part of everything the Muslims do and make then realise that we are all one family.

“I will also ensure that all their demands today are met.”

Governor Fayose had joined Muslims for the Eid-el-Kabir prayers on Friday, while formally attired in Islamic dress code, complete with a turban and a string of praying beads.
